Our application session is currently closed, we will begin accepting applications for 2026 repairs on January 5th, 2026.

If you are interested in our repair program, please review the general program information below.

Program Overview

The Rooted & Rising critical home repair program at Habitat for Humanity of Bowling Green/Warren County (HFHBGWC) is designed to help low- to moderate-income homeowners address urgent repair needs that impact the safety, accessibility, or livability of their home.

This program aligns with Habitat’s mission to preserve affordable housing and ensure that every homeowner can live in a safe and decent home. By providing critical repairs, HFHBGWC works in partnership with homeowners to stabilize neighborhoods and improve quality of life.

Participation in the program is based on income eligibility and need. Repair assistance may be offered as a grant or, in some cases, as a no-interest loan, depending on the scope and cost of the work.

Qualifications

  • Property resides in Warren County, Kentucky
  • Applicant must be listed as the owner on the deed to the house
  • Home must be the primary residence of the applicant

Participation in the program is based on income eligibility and need, and is reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis. The application window will close once all program funds have been used.

Upon submission, HFHBGWC will process the application and schedule an initial construction assessment. Please note, if the total repair cost does not reach $5,000 the repair is delivered as a grant to the applicant without expectation of repayment. On repairs with costs exceeding $5,000, a subsequent forgivable mortgage on the property may be required. Maximum repair cost threshold is set at $25,000. See additional resources below.

Applicants will be notified by mail of the selection decision. The homeowner will be required to pay a one-time partnership fee of $100 at closing.
